As finals week approaches, so do KSMS tryouts. The tryouts will take place on Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th and will determine some of the new staff members for the 2019-2020 school year. Many students go through the tryout process which consists of a radio show, a stand up portion, and a submitted video. The tryouts provide a fun break from all of the stress during finals and an opportunity for students to show a creative side of themselves. It is not always easy though and takes some hard work to prove what you are capable of and that you deserve a spot on KSMS. KSMS staff member sophomore Ella Buss feels that KSMS is a fun way to get involved.
“The best part is being able to make videos for things like sports and getting to go on trips, I just think its really fun,” Buss said.
“I would just say be yourself and don’t be afraid and hold back,” Buss said when asked about advice for trying out.
“I tried out for KSMS because I thought the group of people was very fun and cool”, staff member senior Colin Wilkinson said. Staff member junior Hayden Polen also advises newcomers who are trying out to just be themselves.
“Don’t be nervous, just be yourself, and don’t try to do too much just try to be natural,” Hayden Polen said.
With these tryouts come new excitement of what the 2019-2020 KSMS staff could look like.
