Trump’s Inauguration Day

At 11:47 A.M. Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. It’s been 554 days since Trump announced his candidacy for president and after a very uphill battle he is no longer President-elect but President. During his speech, which focused mostly on the economy and patriotic nationalism; Trump promised more jobs, new infrastructure, an Americans first foreign policy, and a fight against the establishment government.

Trump’s speech was 1,433 words, much shorter than both of Obama’s addresses although a very average length when compared to all the speeches ever given. The crowd was very small when compared to Obama’s first address, and the mall was fairly empty. All across Washington there have been protests. Most have been simple anti-Trump groups spreading their message, however several have turned very violent with entire streets being smashed up however most of these have been broken up and stopped.
After his speech was over the Obamas departed aboard Marine One to Joint Base Andrews where they then traveled to Palm Springs for a vacation. Trump had a lunch with Congress before traveling down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White house in a parade. During the evening Trump attended three separate inaugural balls.
