On November 7th and 8th, DECA will host a dodgeball fundraising tournament in the main gym, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each team will be allowed seven members, but only six can be on the court at a time. 

“We aim to make a fun, safe yet competitive environment for everyone. The proceeds will go to BIGGSteps cancer awareness,” DECA president Hadley Carson said.”It’s $20 per team and the forms can be found on the Green Beans Instagram! Signups end October 31st.”

In late September of 2011, Sean Biggs was diagnosed with cancer. He fought with all of his spirits but sadly passed in 2012. BIGGSteps is the Sean D Biggs Memorial Foundation, and they raise awareness of the causes and ways to reduce the risk of developing cancer; they also support cancer research. 

BIGGSteps also hosts a race – a family event that consists of casual and elite runners. This race was inspired by Biggs’s passion for running and was created by his friends and family.
