As the artist enters her studio, the mics get plugged in, and their camera starts filming.
While it may sound super high-tech and professional, podcasting can be unbelievably cheap and easy to get going. Podcasting is an accessible way to convey not only your thoughts but also tell a story and express yourself.
“We just set up a few chairs and a MacBook, so it’s a nice low budget and chill setup. We bought the microphones for like, $13 each, and then a free editing program that I spliced it all together with. We just use a laptop webcam to film. It’s really affordable for anyone.” senior podcaster Kiara Raven said.
From late-night binging of bad movies to deep talks about emotions, podcasting really gets your inner self thinking on a bigger level.
“Sometimes we’ll go through a whole actor’s catalog and just watch all of his movies and sort of review his whole catalog.” Raven said. “Other times, we’ll go for a certain movie that we think is really deep or meaningful. You really don’t think about it, but once you start discussing film in a more serious manner, you really examine it in a different way.”
Even if nobody is listening, podcasting is still a really great way to connect with those around you. The essential exchange of ideas between someone helps deepen your connection with anyone.
“It deepens your connection with the other person, and you have a better conversation. Rather than just having to go off notes, you can pass new ideas to each other and react to new things. It just generally makes the whole podcasting situation a lot more lively and fun too.” Raven said.
