Why do we have Spirit Week? Why should one dress up? Why does Spirit Week matter?

    Pep executives meet in seminar, brainstorm some simple ideas and plan out the next pep assembly with funny skits and teacher appearances and student performances.

   “In the past, some of the ideas were too complicated which made people lose interest,” senior pep exec Chase Allison said.

The simplicity of this year’s Spirit Days made it easier for people to dress up and get excited for the week’s events. A goal of Pep Club is to increase the number of people dressing up and showing up to the events in general.

Communication and putting more videos online with the help of KSMS featuring the pep execs is another goal of Pep Club. Leaving more information out on places like Twitter, Facebook and Youtube for students to see and for them to place their interest is what pep club is hoping for.

   “My favorite day this week was Career Day,” Allison said. “You can get into character or act out stereotypes easily.”

   Why do we have Spirit Week? To get excited for the school’s upcoming events.

   Why should one dress up? To show enthusiasm and to get others excited for the cause of spirit week.

Why does Spirit Week matter? It shows the students’ thought, dedication, and love for Shawnee Mission South.
