Suckers on Sale for BPA Going to State
February 11, 2015
BPA (Business Professional Association) is an organization supporting students interested in a career in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. Contributing $12 each at the beginning of the year, 30 students interested in a future in business experience and expand their knowledge through the BPA.
A week from Thursday is the state competition provided by BPA. Ten of the 30 students involved in BPA will be headed to state in Wichita, Kansas to present their individual and group work. In the competition there are many categories consisting of variations of finance, accounting, web design, etc. There they will be judged in competition with surrounding schools in Kansas.
“The top five scores of each category will have a chance to go to nationals in Anaheim, California on May 4, 5 and 6,” coach and teacher Cindi Wilson said.
Suckers are being sold in Room 256 (main floor business wing) before and after school to raise money for state. One sucker is 75 cents and only $1 for two.
“The cost per student is about $150 for state so selling suckers is vital towards our trip to state,” Wilson said.
As the 10 participants (listed below) prepare for state their peers need to give a helping hand and give towards the group by buying suckers and spreading the word to one another. Cheering on our peers they’ll fail to disappoint at state on February 19, 20 and 21.
