The heart pounding feeling of walking across the gym packed full of students was felt by seniors Carlie Johnson and Ethan Stone who were crowned the 2015 Sweetheart king and queen.

Johnson is a member of Heritage Choir, Symphonic Orchestra, and Cross Country. Johnson was truly stunned when her name was announced at the basketball game.

“I had no idea! I walked the wrong way when they called my name,” Johnson said . She was not only caught off guard but was also very thankful towards her parents and peers.

“To be honest, I for some reason looked behind me to make sure they weren’t talking about someone else. Nonetheless a really cool experience that I am incredibly thankful for,” Johnson said .

Stone was just as surprised as Johnson was. He is a photographer for the Heritage Yearbook and a member of JSU and GSA. With the crowd roaring, Stones thoughts were going a million directions.

“Basically all that I was thinking was ‘oh wow I didn’t realize that people liked me that much’ and ‘wow this is super cool’,”  Stone said.

As king and queen of the Sweetheart Court Stone and Johnson were accompanied with their first attendants seniors Hannah Bonifield and Anei Anei-Yor. The second attendants to the king and queen were Taylor Cossiart and Benedict Luancing.
