Opening weekend was HOT at the Renaissance Festival! More on the temperature side though.

The massive amount of people there was a bit overwhelming. It felt as if I was nearly colliding with someone every 10 steps. The heat was absolutely oppressive and I passed out from heat exhaustion and had to leave early. I still love the Ren Fest but this particular weekend had to be my worst experience there. It was more a factor of the weather that’s why I’m not dropping my rating below a four.

The Ren Fest is still great.I’ve been attending the event every year since I was four and I still enjoy it immensely. I like to eat a giant turkey every time, watch the joust and browse the stalls. The rides are not as fun as when I was little but I like trying the different foods more now.

The entertainers are what make this festival so much fun. They have performances happening throughout the festival grounds at all times of the day. The joust is still a favorite of mine. The KC Ren Fest is open Saturdays and Sundays Sept. 5 through Oct. 18.
