Former Raider football player, Super Bowl winner returns to South

Former Carolina Panthers Quarterback and South graduate Rodney Peete presented a Wilson Golden Football during halftime at the Tuesday, Jan. 5 boys varsity basketball game against Olathe Northwest. The Super Bowl High School Honor Roll presents Wilson Golden Footballs to high schools where a player or head coach on an active Super Bowl roster graduated from. Rodney Peete played in the 2004 Super Bowl for the Carolina Panthers.
“It went really well… everything was A+,” athletic director John Johnson said.
In addition to the golden football, Johnson and football coach Brett Oberzan presented Peete’s signed jersey that will go in the hall of fame. Click here for a video of the presentations online.
