7 Questions with Abbie Hindle

After performing smaller roles in many plays, sophomore Abbie Hindle followed the yellow brick road to the role of Dorothy in the winter musical “The Wizard of Oz.”
What did you think about during auditions and how were you feeling?
I had a hip injury at the time and I didn’t know how it would interfere with my audition. I was really scared but excited and wanted to do my best.
How did it feel to get the main roll?
It was good, I was surprised but I was really excited to have the opportunity.
How was the experience?
It was stressful, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
What was the biggest obstacle?
Having mono during the practice, because I didn’t have any energy but it didn’t stop me from trying my hardest.
Was your favorite part?
I’m really happy. I got to work with the cast and crew that were there.
What was ToTo like?
He was really easy to work with and now we’re best friends. It was hard carrying him around the whole show but I got used to it.
Was there a time where you had to think on your feet during performing?
The whole show. You can’t zone out for a minute. You have to stay tuned in the entire time.
