`15-0 Girls basketball team dominates once again
The girls Varsity stay perfect and dominant. Last Friday’s 77-9 victory was the fifteenth of the season. It also marks the 8th Sunflower League win , where they are currently at the top of the conference. Throughout the season, the team has been able to play close or maintain a lead. And with no signs of slowing down, it’s hard to know how they are so consistent.
“Having confidence, knowing that we were gonna get the job done. just believing in my teammates.” Forward Zai Funches said. “Staying calm and collected, and just us doing us.
Funches along with Junior Camryn Smith highlight the raider team and have been selected to play in the Metro Sports KC All-Star Game once the season concludes. But before the season ends the girls have one more goal.
“We just need to continue working hard and pushing through these last few weeks of the regular season,” Funches said. “Once we are in the postseason, we try to get that job done.”
But before the postseason, the girls have a few more challenges. At 7:00 tonight, the girls will face off against a previously ranked Pembroke Hill squad.
