Seniors voted in their English classes the week of Sept. 16 to decide the 10 boys and 10 girls who would be their Homecoming candidates.  Each student voted for three boys and three girls, then the votes were tallied and candidates announced Sept. 19.

“It’s kind of just a cool experience to be honored by your peers to be chosen to be Homecoming King,” senior Chase Allen said.

The candidates participate in a ceremony during halftime Oct. 4 during the varsity football game versus Shawnee Mission East.  The students are also presented during the Homecoming assembly earlier that day.

“It’s just fun to get new things and the process is exciting,” senior Kristina Tolson said.

The King and Queen, along with the first, second and third attendants are announced during the ceremony that takes place during the Homecoming Game.
