Shonda Rhimes, producer and writer of Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, has created a new show, How to Get Away with Murder. The show premiered last Thursday and is on again tonight at 9 pm after Scandal. The show follows lawyer and professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and her criminal law class. Davis’ acting is amazing and she was a great pick for Keating’s powerful character.

Keating’s class is full of determined students, but she only picks four to go to trial with her, so the class ruthlessly competes with each other. Harry Potter alum Alfred Enoch plays a struggling but creative new student who manages to gain a spot in Keating’s top four. The main storyline of the show followed a single small trial, and each episode will probably have a smaller trial that Keating’s group will solve.

The other, less clear storyline throughout the show involves Keating’s group. The group has a body that they need to dispose of. I assume the rest of the season will gradually reveal how the person was murdered and any events affecting the group that follows.

How to Get Away with Murder is an exciting show filled with great acting and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season will play out.
