Come on Man

I can always say that if I played this player instead or did this instead that I could’ve won, but what’s done is done. Falling short to Evan Howell, who is first place in the division, I lost 85-68. What killed me in week 12 was taking the risk of playing New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray following his surreal game the week before. After missing a team meeting days before Sunday’s game it was a question whether he’d play. Earlier this year Darrelle Revis’s playing time was not impacted due to a similar situation, so I took the risk especially with my struggling season. Gray road the bench while the Patriots new pickup from the Steelers, LeGarrette Blount, ran for two touchdowns and a New England win.

Although my opponent had a bad week with two players with zero points, I as well had an even poorer performance. The fact that my players failed to get any touchdowns was a big part of my loss. Jordy Nelson (68 yards) and Jordan Matthews (77 yards) both were assets to their respected teams wins but were missing touchdowns to help myself. The Packers defense was projected to destroy the young Vikings offense but they only ended up with four points. Denard “Shoelace” Robinson was stopped short by the Indianapolis Colts defense. Next week Robinson and the Jaguars matchup with the Giants, who allow the second most rushing yards this season, certainly leading to a comeback game.

Two players that had promising statistics were Russell Wilson and Jeremy HIll. Wilson was pressured constantly by the Arizona Cardinals defense, getting sacked seven times. While he only threw for a measly 211 yards and one touchdown, he made up for it on the ground with 10 carries for 73 yards, for a total of 19 fantasy points. Despite sharing carries with Giovani Bernard, Hill still led in carries. Gaining a solid 14 fantasy points on 87 rushing yards and one touchdown last week, his production may see a drop off with a shared role in the near future.

Moving into week 13 I’m excited to start the Miami Dolphins defense against Geno Smith and the Jets. Tied for fourth in the league with sacks (31), the Dolphins are sure to make the Jets life hell. On Thanksgiving, get prepared for the Eagles to stomp the Cowboys. Owning both Jordan Matthews and the Eagles top fantasy kicker, Cody Parkey, the Eagles will generously beat the Cowboys weak secondary. Allowing three touchdowns to tight ends in the last three games, Antonio Gates will have a good chance to bounce back against the Baltimore Ravens.
