On the morning of Wednesday Sept. 23, students celebrate the yearly  ‘See You at the Pole’ event by circling around South’s flagpole in prayer, alongside them was junior Caleb Hasenleder.

“I am apart of FCA. That is  where I learned about it. We and Club 121 were primarily around the pole this year,” Hasenleder said.

‘See You at the Pole’ originated the year of 1990 in Burleson, Texas. after a group of teenagers were so compelled to pray for their schools, family and friends.

“I pray for my  friends and love ones, and about depression and self harm, there is a love that can be found and that can be raised,” Hasenleder said.

The originators of ‘See You at the Pole’ event did not know how to do so, these teenagers decided to pray on the campgrounds, around their flagpole.

“This is my first year attending, even though it is a national event that happens all across the nation,” Hasenleder said.
