One out of 1,500 people is born on Leap Day. Freshman Jackson Willsey is that one out of 1,500. So, this 2016 Leap Year Monday, Feb. 29 will be his big day.

“My parents explained to me my real birthday when I was young and they just explained it to me the best they could,” Willsey said.

This would be his fourth official birthday and he was excited.

“My  parents will make this official birthday bigger, and more special since it only comes around every four years,” Willsey said.

It’s cool that he would get such a big birthday, but there were some disadvantages to his real birthday. His friends joked around and told him that he couldn’t get his permit till he was about 34. Willsey goes by his age of 16, and not 4, it was just easier, and he didn’t have to explain to people. He had met a couple of people who that also have a Leap Year birthday, but no one at South.

Here are a couple of famous people who were born on Leap Day:

Tony Robbins a famous inspirational speaker was born on Leap Day in 1960.

Actor Antonio Sabato, Jr. was born on Leap Day in 1972.

Rapper Ja Rule was born on Leap Day in 1972.

Actor Alex Rocco off the “The Godfather” was born on Leap Day in 1936.
