Teenager Day is today, March 21 and celebrates teens and their struggles. Being a teen is hard; teens grow and they change. According to Stage Of Life.com one out of two teens have personal struggles with mental illness at some point in time.

“One thing I want to change about teens is the expectations of life is going to be hard, that school teaches you nothing, and you have to find yourself through it all,” freshman KatherineReyes said.

Not all things about being a teen are bad. There are some advantages to growing up.

“The best thing about being a teen is the experiences and freedom and power and finding boundaries (parents letting you go to more places),” Reyes said.

For sophomore Pablo Jimenez tests are a challenge and  you have to grow-up with more responsibilities.

“The worst stereotype about teens are they are trouble makers and kindergartners look at middle school and think they are scary and middle school looks at high schoolers and think that they are scary and high school look at college and think that’s scary it’s just a cycle,” Jimenez said.

While being a teen is hard, Stage of Life.com says that teens grow-up and see that being a teens just a stage to get to adulthood. About 89 percent of teens actually like school, and 85 percent think their teachers enjoy teaching. Teenager Day is a day for teens to celebrate this stage of life.
