The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series in 108 years. That is eight years more than a century if you struggle with math and time comprehension; this is a long, long time for a team to go without a World Series. On the other hand, the Cleveland Indians haven’t won it all in 68 years, this is also an incredible length of time. This World Series will only bring an end too one of these droughts.

Cleveland has a lot of momentum within their city. They are full of support for their sports teams (excluding the Browns) as the Cleveland Cavaliers took the NBA finals after the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the seven game series. The Cubs will look to rebound from there rejected Back to the Future World Series prediction. They both have unbelievable pitching squads, with Jake Arrieta, and Jon Lester, leading the charge for the Cubs while Corey Kluber will be sure to control the games he’s chosen to pitch in for the Indians.

The Cubs have some great hitters in Kris Bryant, who is also one of the best third basemen in the league, and Anthony Rizzon, both had a regular season batting average of .292. They also received Ben Zobrist through a trade with our Royals who can play just about any position asked of him. The Indians of course are stacked as well with some real powerful hitters. Carlos Santana and Mike Napoli are both forces to be reckoned with at the plate, they both smacked 34 home runs this season.

This is sure to be an interesting World Series, one championship drought will end, and one will continue. These two teams are extremely talented and will surely make this seven game series a great one and one too remember. The city of Cleveland is looking for a second professional championship in 2016, while the Cubs will be happy breaking the historic 108 year losing streak. Although the Royals may not be in it, pick a team and stand behind them, this will be an interesting series.

The series stands at 1-1 and will continue tonight at seven on FOX.
