Student Celebrate National Book Month

January is national book month and Freshman Reagan Goforth talks about how she loves books.

“My favorite book is ‘The Outsiders’, because I love the characters and storyline.  I liked how it took place in a different time and describes the troubles between the two cliques, the Greasers and the Socs,” Goforth said.

Goforth reads all the time, but doesn’t visit the library often because she had books of her own. Hardback was better for her because it’s durable and was easier to read. She loved realistic fiction because she could connect to the books even if she couldn’t relate to them.

“I love books because it lets you fly through time and stand in someone else’s shoes for a while,” Goforth said.

She had written short stories, but has never tried to write a book before. Her favorite author was Sarah Dessen, who wrote books with simple themes, but they were still interesting.
